Africana Studies is looking for a few creative students!

As part of its 20th anniversary celebrations during the 2012-2013 academic year, the Africana Studies program at Barnard is focusing on the legacy of noted Barnard alumna Ntozake Shange (BC ‘71).

We would like to support a student-generated performance piece that would be produced by Barnard alum and BCRW Alumnae Fellow Ebonie Smith (BC ‘07). It will premiere as the opening to the “Worlds of Shange” Conference, February 14-15, 2013.

If you are a Barnard student who would like to be involved, please come to the first meeting (information below). Previous experience with Shange is not necessary, but an interest in getting to know her work is a must.
